Does it feel like no matter what you do, your digital marketing efforts just aren’t working as you’d hoped? When new clients come to us, we often discover there are several easy SEO strategies that haven’t utilised or even heard of. Often, the difference it makes to traffic and business once they implement these strategies is incredible.
If you’re ready to take your business to the next level with digital marketing, start by trying out these 5 easy SEO strategies.
Let’s be real: a 100-word blog post just isn’t going to cut it if you really want to get traffic to your website! If you want to improve your SEO and digital marketing, focus on creating long-form content that’s also keyword-rich.
The exact guidelines for how long a blog post should be and how many times you should use keywords can vary. As a good rule of thumb, you’ll want your blog posts to be at LEAST 750 words, but 1200 words and higher is optimal. Included in those words should be really enticing headlines that make people want to know more.
One of the great things about writing long-form content is it gives you more opportunities to insert keywords naturally throughout the copy.
Like the ideal length of blog posts, there’s also debate about exactly how many times to insert keywords into your content. Instead of focusing on a specific number, pay more attention to where you can naturally insert the keyword. For a 1000-word blog post, this could be about 3-4 times or up to 5 times in any given post.
For example, if you’re writing a blog post focused on the keywords “SEO Sunshine Coast,” and your post is only 200 words long, it will be tricky to insert that keyword 3 times or more in a natural way. But once your post gets to 1000 words or more, it becomes much easier to include those words throughout the copy in a way that doesn’t seem forced.
When you re-read your content and it seems like one word is jumping out a little too much, you could be doing what’s known as “keyword stuffing.” Ultimately, this will actually hurt SEO rather than improve it.
What are inbound links, you might be asking?
These are links from external websites that take users back to your site and they’re also referred to as backlinks.
So, if we send you to this link that discusses inbound links and why they’re good for SEO, that’s considered an inbound link for the site it takes you to, and an outbound link for us.
If another site linked to this post and it brought you here, that would be considered an inbound link for us — woohoo!
One of the best ways to get inbound links is to create useful, engaging content that people WANT to share.
